This defines the parameters of UHDTV (Ultra High Definition Television), including display resolution, frame rate, chroma sub-sampling, bit depth, color space and audio system. The image sizes are 4K (3840 x 2160) and 8K (7680 x 4320), with frame rates 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 50, 59.94, 60 and 120 Hz. All scans are progressive. The system offers a wider dynamic range with the images’ colorimetry including a wider gamut than HDTV, which is already wider than SD. Sampling may be 10 or 12-bit and 4:4:4, 4:2:2 or 4:2:0 to suit the application.
